b. Canterbury, England, 1965. Working in Canada

Originally from the UK, Carolyn Stockbridge is a contemporary
abstract painter living in Vancouver, Canada. While her paintings can
be seen as large explorations of colour, surface, space and composition,
Stockbridge incorporates concerns of daily living, the balance between
nature and the urban centre that often result in bold and sensitive works.
Carolyn is also known as the animator and music composer for
experimental films and documentaries by Sorella Productions.
She emigrated to Canada in 1979 and has studied in NYC at the
Art Students League (under Catherine Redmond) at Otis College
of Art and Design (LA) and at the Emily Carr Institute in Vancouver.
